Wow! I’m part of Willow Creeks jail ministry-also a chaplain at Lake County Jail-we have alot of men in gangs at Lake County-are you doing anything in the Waukegan area? So many young lives involved in this activity-we take every opportunity while they are in jail to bring them to Christ and join the only gang they will ever need-Christ’s gang!

      Hi Wendy

This is a rather new outreach of Willow Creek Chicago, though the work and connections go back to the early 70s. We are still building our outreach network and trying to figure out how we can most effectively operate. Crossfire has not yet been active in the Lake County area but certainly hopes to do so at some point in the future. I’d love to talk with you some time about how we might partner to become more effective in our outreach efforts. I hope to use Willow Chicago’s unique central location to impact people in every area of the region and to offer opportunities that some of the ministries that are confined by local boundries and borders can not do. Our budding Gangs Anonymous program is an example of that. In any case, feel free to call or e-mail me if you want to learn more. And let me know if you have thoughts or suggestions for this site. Its still a work in progress and hope to develop it in ways that will be useful to both gang members and those working with them. My prayer is that it will provide hope for both.
