I’ve been getting some hits from people wanting to know more about the Popes. I’ve met or communicated with a few old school guys from the Popes in the recent past, but I don’t really know many of the guys at this point. In any case, I’m always open to meeting new sets so, if you’d like to talk, or if you have some guys that need help, I’d be interested in meeting up with you all. Let me know.

Here is the second part to Big D’s story of how and why this Mexican Mafia leader became a Christian:

This is a very cool story about a grandmother opening up her home to work with gang members. Think you’re just one person? Think the problem is too big for you? think you can’t do anything? This woman is my hero. She’s doing something, right here in Chicago, to stop the epidemic of violence that plagues our streets. Here’s a Shout Out to Diane Latiker and the Kids off the Block organization she runs in Roseland. Think you can’t do anything about gang life in Chicago?  Think again!  catch this amazing story at:

So you’re a G holding up the flag, keeping the colors. Are you out there gangbanging for some street cred? You say you’re prepared to go to prison for that flag, for the guys in the hood, to gain that street cred.  If that’s you, here’s something to think about before you get yourself locked up. These are the 7 options that D tells us that a G faces when he goes to prison. Are you prepared to face them?

1.  Are you prepared to spend the rest of your life in prison?

2.  Are you prepared to kill?

3.  Are you prepared to get killed?

4.  Are you prepared to spend the rest of your life in a cell?

5.  Are you prepared to be sexually abused (there aren’t any women in there)?

6  Are you prepared to go to Satan?

7.  Are you prepared to commit suicide?

How D got saved in prison:

Here are some important thoughts if you are about to leave a gang:

Hey guys-

I’m getting hits on this website from guys in the Insane C-Notes. I don’t know anyone from that set, but would like to get some time to talk with you guys. Let me now if any of you want to talk, as a group or individually. You have my ear, so holler at me if/when you think Crossfire might be able to help.

Hey guys,

I stopped by last week and gave you my card. I hope to stop by with some CDs this week. In the meantime, if you want to talk about things, let me know. We can talk over coffee somewhere near you. You have my cell phone number too, so call me if you need to.

Hey guys, I met some of you at Cook County this afternoon. I’m the guy from Crossfire and I gave you my card as we were leaving. The telephone number on the card is my cell. Your homey in Cook County won’t be able to reach me there since the guys in the County can’t call anyone’s cell, but if he wants to write to me, have him send the note to:

Btw, your homey can’t call me, but you can! Let me know if you want to talk.
